Extrusion products

Extrusion, a very performing continuous technique, is the largest converting process for plastics, 60 % of total world plastics consumption of 225 million tons in 2007, more than all molding processes.

World estimates in 2007 (Table 2) give 8 % of total plastics consumption for pipes and tubes, 4 % for profiles and rods, 6 % for extrusion blow molding, 33 % for films and sheet, of which 22 % for films.
